Hi there.
My name is Anthony Hartnet and I hope you enjoy the stories, games and other material I put on this site.
Looking back, I can remember writing stories, creating my own board games and dreaming up song lyrics when I was as young as 8 years old. My folks were pretty poor and I found I had to dig deep to make my own entertainment, or sit quietly and watch the grass in the back yard grow.
Writing became my passion and I spent hour after hour writing about monsters, robots, aliens and anything else that was bizarre and strange. My favourite TV shows were "The Twilight Zone" and "Star Trek", and I read a lot of Stephen King, HP Lovecraft and Richard Matheson - dreaming that one day I might become a published author myself..
As I got older though, I heard lots of stories of talented but starving authors and realised that writing wasn't the securest way to make a living. Having had enough of scarcity as a boy (and not wanting the same for my kids), I decided I better get myself into a suit and tie to improve my chances of making a decent living.
Well, time passed as time does and and things didn't quite work out as planned.
Right now, I pay the mortgage, cover the bills and make sure my kids are fed and clothed by working 8 hours a day in a retail warehouse. Its not exactly stimulating work but its good, honest labour and the pay is regular so I guess I can't complain.
Just recently though, I started looking for a second job to help make ends meet when a friend suggested I put together a web site and try to make money from advertising and donations.
It sounded like a great idea.
From my perspective, I saw it as a way to indulge my passion, give the world some free entertainment and help pay the bills without taking up a late night job pounding pizza dough.
I knew it'd be a lot of work up front, but if it didn't help pay the bills, I could always stop working on the site and start memorising pizza topping combinations.
So here I am and here it is - the site which I started putting together in July, 2007 and hope will entertain a lot of people.
I really hope you enjoy it.
